Crusaders say Sorry: Religious Modules as Electives

Founding Member Christian Wong is apologetic for his group's actions.
“I Heart Jesus Crusade” a society group from Temasek University has issued a public apology to netizens for the posting of posters containing ‘insensitive’ remarks towards other religion at the campus.
The posters were first uploaded on popular forum Hardwarezone where it caused a massive outcry among netizens.
Despite the Group’s apology, netizens are still unhappy, calling their remarks “insincere” and “hypocritical”. In their further efforts to mitigate the situation and repent for their actions, these Crusaders have volunteered to enrol in religious modules to fulfil their university level requirement starting from next semester. This is also in line with the University’s drive in being a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community.
An all-inclusive program will be catered for these Crusaders by the University to enable them to learn and appreciate other cultures and religions. The modules they will be taking include but are not limited to the following:
SC3208: Religion in Society and Culture
MS3218: The Religious Life of the Malays
PH3304: Daoist Traditions
PS3880C: The Enlightenment
SE3224: Thai Drawing and Painting
These Crusaders have pledged not to use the S/U option in any case if they did unsatisfactorily. In addition to lectures and tutorials, these Crusaders will partake in organised events by local mosques and temples where they can observe and appreciate other religious traditions.
One Crusader, @jesuslovesme via twitter said “We are truly regretful for our actions. This is a right move forward for the Group.” Founding member Christian Wong said “we will be having interaction sessions with other religious groups such as the Buddhist Society and Muslim Society to promote religious awareness among our members”.
